Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emile Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Hendricks!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hendricks moves into the clinch.
Hendricks is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hendricks is trying to pull guard but Padilla turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Padilla fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Hendricks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hendricks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hendricks dives in and grabs Padilla's left leg, looking for a takedown. Padilla pushes down on Hendricks's head and hops out.

Hendricks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Padilla walks away with a smile on his face. Hendricks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hendricks is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Padilla's half guard.
Padilla wants to control but Hendricks is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Padilla has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hendricks is working away from the top position though.
Hendricks is looking to take a break and control but Padilla is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Padilla tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hendricks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Padilla ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Padilla no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Emile Padilla will probably get the nod.

Well Hendricks has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
