PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DonT Bill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buzz Lightyear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lightyear is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Champion - Grinspoon. Bill has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Buzz Lightyear will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bill gets caught flat footed, as Lightyear shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Bill is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lightyear defends well.
Lightyear in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lightyear postures up in Bill's guard and throws a big left but Bill blocks it.
Lightyear throws a big right hand that misses.
Bill not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lightyear got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bill has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lightyear has managed to get both his arms back between Bill's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lightyear avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bill is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bill has his foot on Lightyear's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lightyear works his way back into a safe position though.

Bill has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lightyear can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lightyear is working for a kimura but Bill is defending it quite comfortably.
Lightyear throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bill might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bill is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lightyear's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lightyear's back!

Bill is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Lightyear is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Bill off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lightyear is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Bill gets his way!

Bill has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Lightyear is in real trouble here. Bill gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Lightyear is tapping out! Bill wins by rear naked choke!

DonT Bill seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Buzz Lightyear spoke after the fight, saying 'I was carrying an injury, I would have straight killed this guy if I had been healthy. Next time I see him in the octagon, he won't have his hand raised, he'll be getting airlifted to hospital. Period.'.
