PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas LaVey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LaVey comes to the cage accompanied by Deicide - Scars Of The Crucifix. Anthony Joseph told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from LaVey.
A head kick by LaVey misses
and Joseph counters with a nice leg kick.
Joseph throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
LaVey throws a nice outside leg kick.
Joseph's coach down at team razors mma fight club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Joseph's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Joseph shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Anthony Joseph has been cut.
LaVey connects with a right hand. Joseph shakes it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lucas LaVey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joseph feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to LaVey's calf.

Joseph takes a body punch but keeps moving.
LaVey connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
LaVey takes a swing at Joseph's ribcage but misses.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from LaVey - that will leave a mark!
LaVey defending well as Joseph loads up on a big left hand.
A jab from LaVey finds it's way through Joseph's defenses.
LaVey thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Joseph if he has to take too many more of those.

Joseph takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LaVey tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
LaVey lands a body shot.
LaVey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
LaVey will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
The fighters circling - LaVey throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from LaVey.
LaVey moves out of range as Joseph throws a body kick.

That has opened up Anthony Joseph's cut even more.
LaVey looks to land a combination. Joseph sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

LaVey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Joseph staying out of range there.
Nice uppercut lands for Joseph. That snapped LaVey's head back.

The cut above Anthony Joseph's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Joseph throws a low kick but LaVey moves out of range easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for LaVey.
Joseph chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Joseph throws a body kick that misses.
Joseph fakes high and swings low for a body shot but LaVey manages to avoid it.
It looks like LaVey has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Joseph tries to land a front kick but LaVey steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Joseph misses with a leg kick.
LaVey bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Joseph's head.
LaVey darts in looking for a takedown but Joseph gets double underhooks and turns LaVey into the cage.
Joseph is trying to push LaVey away but LaVey has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A short uppercut from LaVey.

LaVey lands with a right to the head.
Joseph wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

LaVey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
LaVey thows a left - swing and a miss!
Joseph lands with a nice body punch.
Crunch! LaVey slams his shin into Joseph's torso.
A nice inside leg kick there by Joseph. That's going to slow LaVey down.
LaVey looks to land a left hand but Joseph moved out of range nicely.
Joseph looks to land a body kick but LaVey moved away.
LaVey pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
LaVey is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Anthony Joseph's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Joseph takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Joseph uses good head movement to avoid the hook from LaVey.
Joseph cracks the inside of LaVey's front leg.
