The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reaper scores with a nice body kick.

Kuivanen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Reaper defends well and Kuivanen ends up having to push Reaper into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kuivanen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Reaper takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kuivanen looks to land a body kick but Reaper moved away.
Reaper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kuivanen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Reaper stuffs the takedown attempt from Kuivanen. Kuivanen gets slowly back to his feet.

Reaper takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kuivanen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Reaper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kuivanen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Reaper wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kuivanen fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Reaper square on the jaw! Damn, Reaper is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
