Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Washington is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bang Your Head (Metal Health). Troy Washington is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Troy Washington!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Perry paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Perry throws a body punch but Washington moves out of range.
Washington scores with a jab to the jaw.
Perry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Washington misses with a straight left.
Perry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Washington as he jumps to the side.
Washington connects with a body shot.
Perry has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudy Perry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Perry just misses with a punch to the body.
Troy Washington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Washington throws a big shot that misses.
Washington slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Perry closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Washington throws a lazy right hand but Perry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Washington throws a right and a left that both miss.
Perry throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Washington scores with a three punch combo!
Perry wants to clinch but Washington slips to the side
and Washington counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

so Perry counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Perry looking to pass the guard.
Washington avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Washington tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Washington escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Perry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Washington trying to keep a closed guard but Perry is proving a slippery customer.
Perry sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Washington's guard.

Washington is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Perry controlling the position well.

Perry is trying to control but Washington manages to pass to mount!

Washington throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Washington is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Perry has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Washington jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Perry is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Perry and Washington has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Perry is on top in guard.

Perry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Washington swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Washington keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Washington regains full guard. Nicely done.
Perry wants to control from the top but Washington keeps moving.
Perry tries to free his leg and advance position but Washington is retaining full guard.
Perry scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Perry throws a big right hand that misses.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Perry trying to control the position from guard on top but Washington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Washington can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Perry controls the pace.
Washington manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Perry wants to control but Washington is having none of it.
Washington wants to control the pace but Perry is squirming around nicely.
Perry is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Washington wants to take Perry's back but he can't do it this time.
Perry gets back to half guard.
Perry trying to control from the bottom.
Perry is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Perry wants to control but Washington is keeping busy.
Washington is keen to just control but Perry is a slippery customer.
Perry works his way to full guard. Good work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Washington postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Perry is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Washington, into his guard.
Washington is breathing heavily.
Washington has momentary wrist control but Perry slips an elbow through the middle.
Washington not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Perry wants to control from the top but Washington keeps moving.
Perry passes into half guard.
Perry drops an elbow to the side of Washington's head.
Perry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Washington keeps working.
Perry is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Washington is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rudy Perry will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
