Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chance Crosby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Higgins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Chance Crosby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crosby gets tackled into the cage by Higgins. Higgins maintains the clinch.
Higgins using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Crosby has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Crosby tries to land a knee to the head but Higgins blocks with his arms.
A frustrated look appears on Crosby's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Crosby doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Higgins breaks from the clinch.

Higgins rushes Crosby and presses him up against the cage.
Higgins tries to break free but Crosby pushes him back against the cage.

Higgins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Crosby really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Crosby thuds his shin into the meat of Higgins's side.
Higgins scores with a kick to the body.

Higgins forces Crosby back against the cage and clinches.

Higgins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Higgins, right into the meat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Higgins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Crosby, pushing him back against the cage.

Higgins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Higgins tries to bum rush Crosby with a series of wild strikes but Crosby uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Crosby tries for a takedown but Higgins circles away easily
and Higgins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Higgins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Higgins wants it to stay on the feet.

Higgins has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Higgins as the two fighters clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Higgins.
Crosby jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Higgins walks away with a smile on his face. Crosby gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chance Crosby. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice body kick there by Higgins.
Crosby is breathing heavily.

Higgins dives in and scores a takedown into Crosby's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Crosby wants to sweep here but Higgins controlling him for the moment.
Higgins content to stall in guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Higgins with a nice head shot there.
Higgins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crosby swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Higgins chips away with some ground and pound.
Higgins is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Higgins might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alex Higgins.
Higgins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crosby sprawls well. Crosby wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Higgins gets slowly back to his feet.

Higgins clinches up with Crosby and pushes him back against the cage.
Crosby working Higgins over with knees to the body.
Higgins pushes Crosby back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Higgins is working for takedown but Crosby is calmly controlling the position for now.
Higgins landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Higgins stalling in the clinch but Crosby improves position.

Crosby is trying to pull guard but Higgins has him pressed against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Higgins keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Crosby's efforts to push away.
Crosby looking to throw knees to the head but Higgins is blocking nicely.

Higgins has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Crosby regains guard immediately.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Higgins being controlled here momentarily.
Crosby looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Higgins is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Higgins won't allow Crosby to sweep him here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Higgins wants to control from the top but Crosby keeps moving.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Alex Higgins has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Crosby enables Higgins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Crosby manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Higgins dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Crosby feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.


Crosby is rocked!

Higgins has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Crosby should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Higgins has tightened it up now! Crosby should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Alex Higgins!
