The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mengel takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mengel loads up on a big right hand but Mayor slips the punch.
Mayor moves out of range of the strikes.
Mayor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mayor connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Mengel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mayor lands a glancing blow to the side of Mengel's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mayor takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Tommy Mayor has been cut.

Mengel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mayor sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tommy Mayor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mengel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mengel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mengel wants to clinch but Mayor slips to the side
and Mayor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Mayor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Mengel might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Mayor lands a nice hook to Mengel's body. Mengel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mengel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Mengel looks up at the clock. Bad move! Mayor lands a right hand from hell, dropping Mengel. Mayor pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
