Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jamezdin Shraf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Beau Teh!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teh pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shraf misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shraf misses with a hook to the body
and Teh makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Teh moves out of range of the body kick.
Teh thumps Shraf with a low kick.

Shraf rushes Teh and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
I was talking to Shraf's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Teh pulls guard successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Shraf throwing strikes from guard but Teh blocks nicely.
Shraf sitting in guard here, content to control.
Shraf working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teh keeping moving, preventing Shraf from controlling successfully.

We're going to have a standup here because Jamezdin Shraf wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Teh scores with a spinning back kick!

Shraf rushes Teh and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Teh manages to break the clinch.

Teh clinches up against the cage.

Teh pulls guard.
Shraf wants to control from the top but Teh keeps moving.
Teh wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Shraf trying to control the position from guard on top but Teh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jamezdin Shraf wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Shraf fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Teh, pushing him back against the cage.

Teh jumps into guard, dragging Shraf to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shraf advances to half guard.
Teh blocking the ground and pound attempt from Shraf.
Teh is trying to control but can't.

Shraf is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Teh on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Teh is looking to improve his position.
Shraf trying to control the action but Teh is working from the bottom.

Shraf is working for a kimura but Teh is defending it quite comfortably.
Shraf is breathing heavily.
Teh manages to get to full guard.
Shraf throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Teh works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Teh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shraf. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shraf engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Teh keeping moving, preventing Shraf from controlling successfully.
Teh wants to stand up but Shraf is controlling him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shraf trying to control but Teh is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jamezdin Shraf will probably get the nod.

Teh lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Teh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Teh won't allow Shraf to sweep him here.
Shraf is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Jamezdin Shraf wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shraf is adopting a defensive guard.

Teh wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Shraf's closed guard. He's half up but Shraf has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Shraf pivots and extends the arm, Teh falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Shraf! Well done that man!
