PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hyun Tae Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Seinfeld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hyun Tae Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerry Seinfeld!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seinfeld circles away from the clinch attempt
and Seinfeld counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kang tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Seinfeld cracks a nice hook into Kang's ribs.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Seinfeld, as that shot connected.
Kang looks to clinch
and Seinfeld counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kang changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Seinfeld tries to avoid it but Kang manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Seinfeld to the ground. Seinfeld escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Seinfeld pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Seinfeld circles away from the clinch attempt
and Seinfeld counters with a left to the body.
Kang tries to clinch but Seinfeld moves away
and Seinfeld counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kang thinking.
We've been told by Kang's head coaches at HARRY'S that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Seinfeld lands a nice looking body kick.

Kang wants to clinch but Seinfeld slips to the side
and Seinfeld counters with a left to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice sprawl there from Seinfeld as Kang shoots in.
Nice uppercut there from Seinfeld.
Seinfeld defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kang.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hyun Tae Kang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Seinfeld ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Seinfeld moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Seinfeld stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Seinfeld wants it to stay on the feet.
Seinfeld will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kang throws a low kick but Seinfeld moves out of range easily.
Kang shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kang misses with a takedown attempt
and Seinfeld counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Seinfeld tries a head kick but it misses.
Seinfeld lands a nice shot that snaps Kang's head back.

Seinfeld looks to land a combination. Kang sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Kang moves to clinch but Seinfeld breaks away
and Seinfeld counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kang tries for a takedown but Seinfeld sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Seinfeld closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Kang wants to clinch but Seinfeld slips to the side
and Seinfeld counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Seinfeld punishes Kang's body with a nice straight punch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kang.
Kang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kang is breathing heavily.
Kang takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Seinfeld bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kang tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Seinfeld counters with a leg kick.
Seinfeld takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Seinfeld bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Seinfeld throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kang.
Kang walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kang shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Seinfeld sprawls well. Seinfeld wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kang gets slowly back to his feet.
Seinfeld has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kang ducks right into an uppercut from Seinfeld.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerry Seinfeld dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Seinfeld moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Hyun Tae Kang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Seinfeld displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kang.
Kang tries a head kick but it misses.
Seinfeld scores with a nice strike.
Kang darts in trying to clinch
and Seinfeld counters with a straight right hand.
Kang fails with the takedown
and Seinfeld connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Seinfeld looks for the body kick but Kang saw that one coming.
Kang tries a low kick but Seinfeld avoids it.

Seinfeld ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kang. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Seinfeld works the jab nicely.
Kang wants to clinch
and Seinfeld cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kang is defended easily by Seinfeld.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hyun Tae Kang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Seinfeld closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Seinfeld has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Seinfeld connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Kang fails to land the takedown.

and Seinfeld counters with a one-two to the body.

Seinfeld fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kang looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kang shoots in looking for a takedown but Seinfeld manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kang's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Seinfeld dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kang tries to bum rush Seinfeld with a series of wild strikes but Seinfeld uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kang tries to clinch but Seinfeld moves away
and Seinfeld counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Seinfeld displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kang.

Seinfeld lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kang backs up against the cage.


Kang is rocked!

Seinfeld throws a quick inside leg kick.
Oh Kang is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Seinfeld drops Kang with a naaaaasty hook - Kang is in real trouble here! Seinfeld dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jerry Seinfeld!
Jerry Seinfeld was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
