Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Best!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arthur Halo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halo dives in for a single leg takedown but Best sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Halo working hard to break the clinch.

Best turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Best tries to move into full mount but can't pass Halo's legs.
Halo is looking for a sweep.
Best controls the position.
Halo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Halo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Best off and has taken his back!
Halo keeps control of the position as Best tries to break free.

Best rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Best might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Best is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Halo pulls his head out easily.
Best is trying to get back to full guard.
Halo wants to control but Best is keeping him busy.
Halo slows the pace down in half guard.
Halo throwing shots but Best is blocking nicely.

Best wants to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Arthur Halo.
Best throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Halo's waist but Halo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Best off to one side.
Halo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Best as he avoids it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Best as Halo shoots in.
Johnny Best has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arthur Halo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Best is defended easily by Halo.

Halo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Halo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Best does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Best looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Halo throws some wild stikes that Best manages to avoid easily.
Best looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Best turns into Halo and is now in his guard.
Best is breathing heavily.
Halo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Halo looking for a sweep. Not yet Halo, not yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Halo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Best is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Arthur Halo will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Best will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Halo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Halo misses with a takedown

and Best counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Halo's guard now.
Best is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Best is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Halo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Best is looking to defend but Halo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Best! Halo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Best taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Arthur Halo!
