The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valencia takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Emmett Valencia has been cut.

Silver looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Valencia!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Silver tries to score with some ground and pound. Valencia controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Valencia is trying to get back to his feet.
Silver throws an elbow but Valencia slips to the side and avoids it well.

Valencia tries to bench press Silver off him but Silver keeps the position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silver in particular looking to stall.

Silver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Renano Silver spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
