Hungus is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trey Golden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Hungus!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golden with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Golden misses with an uppercut. Hungus saw that one coming.
Hungus looks to land a right hand but Golden moved out of range.

Hungus scores with a takedown into Golden's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Golden working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hungus.
Hungus tries to free his leg and advance position but Golden is retaining full guard.
Hungus throwing strikes but missing.
Golden manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Golden takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hungus tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Golden avoids the attempt from Hungus to control.
Hungus is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Hungus is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Golden trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hungus wants to control but Golden is having none of it.

Hungus tries to reverse the position but Golden maintains control.
Golden controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Golden wants to control the pace but Hungus is squirming around nicely.

Hungus is trying to maintain the position but Golden is very close to passing his half guard.

Trey Golden has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Golden cracks Hungus with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hungus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Golden walks into a stiff left hand from Hungus.
Golden uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hungus has time to react.
Hungus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Golden swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hungus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Golden moves away.
Golden cracks the inside of Hungus's front leg.
Trey Golden is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Golden throws a jab when Hungus was well out of range.
Hungus slips under a jab.
Karl Hungus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Golden lands the left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trey Golden will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fight stays on the outside here - Golden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Golden displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hungus.
Hungus misses with a series of wild punches.
Golden misses with a hook. Hungus ducked under it nicely.
Hungus feints a jab promting Golden to slip. Hungus then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Golden slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hungus uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hungus tries to bum rush Golden with a series of wild strikes but Golden uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Golden is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Hungus misses with a kick to the body

and Golden holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hungus is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Golden tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Golden misses with a short punch on the inside.
Golden lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hungus backwards.
Hungus takes a shot to the head.
Hungus trying to control the position but instead, Golden has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hungus into the cage.

Hungus tightens his grip and picks Golden up, before dumping him to the ground. Golden manages to land in guard.
Hungus trying to control but Golden is working from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from Golden's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Hungus has gone for a leg lock! Golden slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hungus's guard.
Hungus keeping moving, preventing Golden from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hungus doesn't manage to clinch there - Golden circles away.
Hungus is looking to clinch.
Hungus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Golden circles away quickly and effectively.
Golden leaves Hungus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hungus has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hungus there as he acknowledges the shot.
Trey Golden is winning the standup battle so far.
Hungus shoots in and drives through. Golden sprawls well.
Trey Golden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Hungus.
Hungus tries to close the distance and clinch but Golden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Golden throws out a leg kick but Hungus moves out of range and Golden only half commits.
A nice inside leg kick there by Golden. That's going to slow Hungus down.

Hungus slips under a jab from Golden.
Golden slips a jab and a cross from Hungus.
Hungus misses with an uppercut. Golden saw that one coming.
Golden swats away the attempt to clinch by Hungus.
Karl Hungus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Golden rushes Hungus and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Golden lands a knee to the body.
Hungus is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

It looks like Karl Hungus has been cut.
Golden lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Golden throws a big uppercut that drops Hungus! More strikes from Golden and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Hungus lies dazed against the cage as Golden celebrates with his cornermen!

Trey Golden bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
