Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weeks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Weeks enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Weeks manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Millard Weeks.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Weeks lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Weeks working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Weeks throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jones because Weeks loaded up on that one.

Jones tries to hold on but Weeks pushes him away.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Weeks defending against the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Weeks is avoiding damage well.
Jones trying to control the position but Weeks is working away.
Millard Weeks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jon Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Weeks pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
