Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerardo Wolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steffen Eddison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steffen Eddison has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gerardo Wolf's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gerardo Wolf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steffen Eddison!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eddison fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wolf darts in looking for a takedown but Eddison gets double underhooks and turns Wolf into the cage.
Eddison is trying to pull guard but Wolf has him pressed against the cage.

Eddison gets control of Wolf's arms and successfully pulls guard. Eddison will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Eddison wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Wolf is now in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Eddison manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Eddison is looking for a triangle but Wolf pushes his legs off easily.
Wolf won't allow Eddison to get back to his feet.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Eddison is on top in guard.
Wolf has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wolf is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wolf wants to sweep but no luck.
Eddison wants to stand but Wolf is controlling his posture from full guard.
Wolf will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Gerardo Wolf wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Eddison looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wolf is fending him off so far but Eddison persists. Nope, Wolf circles away and we're back to standing.
Wolf tries to score a power double leg takedown but Eddison sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wolf somewhat.
Steffen Eddison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wolf avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wolf shoots in and drives through. Eddison sprawls well.

Eddison closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wolf's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Eddison tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wolf paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Eddison misses with a head kick.
Wolf slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Eddison throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Wolf counters with a right hand to the body.
Wolf tries to bum rush Eddison with a series of wild strikes but Eddison uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Eddison tries to clinch there but Wolf circles away.

Wolf tries to sprawl but Eddison drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Eddison is wriggling around trying to escape.
Eddison regains half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eddison can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wolf looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Eddison with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Eddison regains half guard.
Eddison is looking to control Wolf's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Eddison avoid being mounted?

Wolf decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Eddison looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Eddison drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wolf pulls his leg out and moves away.

Well Eddison has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
