Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Graham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brety Kappler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brety Kappler is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Malcolm Graham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brety Kappler!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Graham gets caught napping as Kappler dives in and scores a takedown. Graham manages to retain guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Graham wants to sweep here but Kappler controlling him for the moment.
Graham working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kappler.
Graham is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kappler is stalling in the full guard.

Kappler gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Graham shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kappler as he jumps to the side.

Kappler is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Graham's half guard.
Graham is looking to escape.
Kappler seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kappler stands up and beckons Graham to join him on the feet.

Kappler rushes Graham and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Graham tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Graham - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Kappler wants the takedown. Graham is fighting it off but Kappler persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Graham's guard against the cage.
Graham really is a fat lump.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kappler advances to half guard.
Kappler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kappler is looking to take a break and control but Graham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brety Kappler.

Graham gets caught flat footed, as Kappler shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kappler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Kappler decides to stand up, so the ref orders Graham to his feet.

Graham gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kappler to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kappler stops Graham from standing up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Graham wants to improve his position but instead Kappler has moved into half guard.
Kappler slows the pace down in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Graham holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Kappler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kappler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Graham is looking for a sweep.
Graham is working hard here to advance position.

Kappler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Graham, who protects the arm well.
Graham is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kappler's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Brety Kappler has got the better of the ground game so far.
Graham looks like he's trying to stand up.

Kappler escapes and gets back to his feet.
Brety Kappler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kappler dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Kappler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kappler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kappler throws an elbow but Graham slips to the side and avoids it well.

Kappler is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Graham is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kappler decides to stand back up.
Kappler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Graham.
Graham dives in and grabs Kappler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kappler pushes down on Graham's head and hops out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kappler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Graham tries to kick Kappler off in order to stand up. Kappler Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Graham might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kappler remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Graham is looking to regain half guard here but Kappler keeps moving and retains side control.
Graham wants to get back to his feet but Kappler is dominant here and he's now got Graham's back!
What can Graham do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brety Kappler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kappler swats away the attempt to clinch by Graham.
Kappler slaps away a takedown attempt from Graham, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Malcolm Graham is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kappler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Graham paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Graham keeps the fight on the outside.

Kappler manages to get back to half guard.

Graham wants to stand up but Kappler is controlling the position.

Graham is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kappler has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Graham is on him like a limpet, forcing Kappler back against the cage.
Graham is trying to pull guard but Kappler has him pressed against the cage.
Graham tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kappler smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Malcolm Graham. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kappler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kappler seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kappler has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Graham has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kappler has passed into side control.
Kappler in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Kappler is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Graham will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Graham is pushing Kappler's head away, looking to escape. Kappler manages to hold on to the position though.

Kappler working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Graham is not content to let Kappler control the position.
The referee asks Kappler politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kappler prefers to stall for the moment though.
Kappler has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Graham!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kappler is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Graham has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Graham!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kappler is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brety Kappler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kappler winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
