Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mack Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason has chosen Broken Bones as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mack Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Mason!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Darius Henderson and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Stevenson moves into the clinch.
Mason tries to pull guard but Stevenson won't allow it.
Mason has Stevenson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stevenson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mack Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Mason.
Mason has a couple of punches blocked by Stevenson.
Stevenson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Stevenson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stevenson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Stevenson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mason gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stevenson has his feet on Mason's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Stevenson has Mason up against the cage in a clinch.

Stevenson gets control of Mason's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stevenson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stevenson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mason can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stevenson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Mason stands up and waves to Stevenson to follow him.
Stevenson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Stevenson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mason has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stevenson has managed to get both his arms back between Mason's legs - danger averted.

Stevenson tightens his grip and picks Mason up, before dumping him to the ground. Mason manages to land in guard.
Stevenson stands up over Mason, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mason is controlling Stevenson's posture.
Stevenson is looking to work some ground and pound but Mason has wrist control.

Mason has an active guard here but Stevenson has managed to pass into half guard.

Mason is staying active underneath Stevenson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stevenson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mason's head.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's time! Stevenson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Stevenson connects with a leg kick. Mason looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Stevenson has control of Mason's left arm, preventing Mason from doing any damage.

Stevenson pushes Mason off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Stevenson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Mason gets tackled into the cage by Stevenson. Stevenson maintains the clinch.
Mason goes for a takedown attempt but Stevenson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Stevenson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Mason moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mason is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Mason regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Stevenson.

Stevenson looking to sit in guard and control but Mason gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stevenson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mason defends it easily.
Stevenson wants to stand but Mason is controlling the position.

Mack Stevenson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Stevenson is trying to keep Mason in close.

Well Stevenson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
