Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lapuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson looks to land a combination but Lapuz avoids it well.

We've been hearing good reports from Thompson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Thompson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lapuz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Thompson.

That's time! Thompson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Lapuz has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Thompson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lapuz is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Thompson pulls down on the head and he's put Lapuz to sleep! This one is all over!
