Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Glen Danzig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ove Sundberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danzig comes into the arena with The Misfits- Night of the Living Dead blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Danzig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ove Sundberg!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sundberg tries for a takedown but Danzig sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sundberg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Danzig tries to avoid it but Sundberg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Danzig to the ground. Danzig escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Danzig has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We've been informed that Sundberg has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Danzig breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Sundberg seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Sundberg is trying to work for a kimura but Danzig is defending well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Danzig shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sundberg eats them both and turns towards Danzig to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The fighters circle momentarily. Danzig darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sundberg is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sundberg has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sundberg fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Sundberg pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sundberg is landing with some decent strikes but Danzig is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Sundberg wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ove Sundberg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Danzig's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Sundberg connects with a good right hand that stumbles Danzig. Danzig circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Danzig fails with an attempt to clinch.
Danzig bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sundberg's head backwards.
Danzig takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Danzig tries to clinch but Sundberg is having none of it.
Danzig misses with a two punch combination.
Sundberg tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Danzig is able to avoid easily.
Sundberg takes one on the button.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Danzig tries to clinch there but Sundberg circles away.
Danzig drops Sundberg with a big left hand! Sundberg is injured, injured bad! Danzig jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Glen Danzig was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
