Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Weiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drago Maximov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Weiner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Drago Maximov!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Weiner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maximov can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maximov is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Weiner takes a little break here. Maximov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Weiner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maximov pushes Weiner away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Weiner gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Maximov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Weiner has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Maximov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Weiner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Weiner postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Maximov looks a forlorn figure.

Weiner throwing strikes here but Maximov is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Maximov is squirming around, avoiding Weiner's attempts to control the action.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maximov is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Maximov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Maximov is rocked!
Weiner unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Maximov wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Weiner celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Weiner!
An out of breath Chris Weiner thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
