PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trey Anastasio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anastasio comes to the cage accompanied by Tweezer. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belfort has taken the fight to the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Anastasio.
Anastasio tries to pull guard but Belfort holds him up against the cage and eventually Anastasio drops back down to his feet.

Anastasio manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Belfort wants to get up but he can't break Anastasio's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Anastasio throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Anastasio has a closed guard, preventing Belfort from standing up.

Anastasio wants to take a breather but Belfort is having none of it.

Anastasio is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Anastasio seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Belfort does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Belfort is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Anastasio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Belfort is squirming around, avoiding Anastasio's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Anastasio is really struggling to control Belfort but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anastasio is landing with some decent strikes but Belfort is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Anastasio is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Belfort is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Belfort felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Anastasio might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Anastasio stands up over Belfort, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
