Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Val Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Samsonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Val Moss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Samsonov!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samsonov scores with a takedown into Moss's guard.
Moss really is a fat lump.
Moss is pulling down on Samsonov's head to control his posture.
Samsonov stopping the sweep attempt from Moss.
Samsonov wants to control from the top but Moss keeps moving.
Moss is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Samsonov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Samsonov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moss is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Samsonov wants to control but Moss is keeping busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moss is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Samsonov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Moss wants to stand but Samsonov is controlling his arm.

Moss wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Samsonov, who protects the arm well.
Samsonov is not content to let Moss control the position.

Samsonov wants to control but Moss postures up.

Moss goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Samsonov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Moss but great work by Samsonov.

Samsonov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Samsonov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Samsonov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moss knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Moss is trying to control Samsonov's posture but Samsonov avoids it.

Samsonov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Moss is looking for a sweep.

Samsonov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moss has escaped the position, nice work there.

Samsonov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Samsonov looks winded!
What's Moss going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Val Moss will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Val Moss's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Samsonov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Moss on his heels. He'll look to pass Moss's guard now, I'm sure.
Moss controls Samsonov momentarily but Samsonov frees himself.
Samsonov passes Moss's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Samsonov is thwarting Moss's attempts to control the position.
Moss won't allow Samsonov to pass to mount.
Samsonov working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Moss's thigh. Moss counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Moss wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Samsonov is now in half guard.

Moss is pressing down on Samsonov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Moss is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Moss manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Samsonov manages to get himself to full guard.
Moss won't allow Samsonov to sweep him here.
Samsonov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Moss!
Moss gets back to half guard.
Moss wants to improve his position but Samsonov is controlling well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Samsonov uses his free foot to push down on Moss's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Moss.
Samsonov throws some wild stikes that Moss manages to avoid easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moss regains half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Moss tries to roll over but Samsonov keeps him under control.
Moss wants to control but Samsonov is keeping busy.

Samsonov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Moss is just riding it out for now. Samsonov eventually gives up the hold.
Samsonov is breathing heavily.

Samsonov wants to work for an arm triangle but Moss is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Samsonov is thwarting Moss's attempts to control the position.
Moss manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moss looking for a sweep. Not yet Moss, not yet.

Samsonov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Moss looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Moss looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Moss!
Moss in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Moss looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Moss is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Samsonov is trying to escape and Moss transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Samsonov is forced to tap! Nice work there by Moss! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Val Moss!
