Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacques Cousteau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chico Dicko!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cousteau shoots in but Dicko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dicko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dicko throws a head kick that misses.
Dicko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cousteau.
We've been hearing reports that Cousteau has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Cousteau shoots for a takedown but Dicko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dicko feints and then cracks Cousteau's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cousteau down.
Dicko fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cousteau is out of range.

Cousteau dives in for a single leg takedown but Dicko sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dicko digs a right hand into Cousteau's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Cousteau's gas tank.
Cousteau tries to score a body lock takedown but Dicko shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Chico Dicko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cousteau takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Dicko throws out a loose jab but Cousteau uses good head movement to avoid it.

Cousteau shoots in but no luck this time.
Dicko cracks Cousteau with an open hand slap.
Dicko lands with a cross.
Dicko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Dicko.
Cousteau drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dicko pulls his leg out and moves away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cousteau.
Cousteau shoots in but Dicko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Cousteau. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Dicko stuffs the takedown.
Dicko lands with a straight right. Cousteau didn't see that one coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dicko tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Cousteau changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dicko fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dicko is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Cousteau had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Cousteau has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dicko.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dicko scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Dicko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dicko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cousteau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cousteau has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dicko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cousteau goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dicko rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cousteau's guard! Nice work there by Dicko!
Dicko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
