Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Cervantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Cervantes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Cervantes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jones looking to control but instead Cervantes has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Cervantes wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.

Jones wants to work for an arm triangle but Cervantes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cervantes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cervantes strikes from the bottom but Jones uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Cervantes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cervantes will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jones has gone for a leg lock! Cervantes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.

I would just about give that final round to Jon Jones.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
