Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keith Hays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hebe Youdown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keith Hays!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hebe Youdown!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Youdown fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hays gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Youdown goes for a takedown attempt but Hays pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A jab from Youdown does it's job there.
Youdown shoots in looking for a takedown. Hays tries to sprawl out of it but Youdown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hays manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hays darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Youdown is controlling Hays's position as best he can from this difficult position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Youdown can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hays lands with some strikes.

Hays has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Youdown wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hays.
Youdown wants to try and get back to his feet.
Hays throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Youdown because Hays loaded up on that one.

Hays looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Youdown tries to close the distance and clinch but Hays swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Youdown shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hays manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hays trying to keep a closed guard but Youdown is proving a slippery customer.
Hays manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Youdown manages to get himself to full guard.

Hays decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Youdown, up you get!
Keith Hays is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hays shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Youdown as he avoids it easily.
Youdown looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hays tries to clinch but Youdown moves out of range.

Youdown in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hays really is a fat lump.
Youdown trying to control the position from guard on top but Hays is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hays manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hays lands a big shot there that rocks Youdown but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Hays is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Youdown to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Youdown shrugs it off.
Youdown tries to lock up and control but Hays gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Youdown is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Hays controlling the pace for now.
Youdown tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hays looking to control but Youdown is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hays working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Youdown slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Youdown is looking to get back to is feet but Hays passes into side control.

Youdown parries the strikes from Hays easily there. Hays is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Youdown to escape.
Youdown is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hays is controlling him well.
Hays is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Youdown tries to buck Hays off but Hays is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Keith Hays will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Hays is looking to clinch but Youdown is avoiding it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hays will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Youdown up against the cage.

Youdown distracts Hays with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hays keeping moving, preventing Youdown from controlling successfully.

Youdown postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hays is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Youdown, into his guard.
Hays might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Youdown wants to stand but Hays is controlling the position.

Hays gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Youdown swats away the attempt to clinch by Hays.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hays looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Youdown tries to bum rush Hays with a series of wild strikes but Hays uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Keith Hays has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hebe Youdown.

Youdown is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hays is defending well for now.
The referee calls for Hays to work.

Hays gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Hays is keen to just control but Youdown is a slippery customer.
Youdown tries to roll over but Hays keeps him under control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hays seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Youdown does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hebe Youdown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Keith Hays is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hays, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
