PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lester Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fei Yue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lester Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fei Yue!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yue checks a low kick from Green.
Green throws a leg kick that is checked

and Yue decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Green's guard.

Green will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yue accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Green has Yue pulled in close to control his posture.
Yue is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Green is trying to keep Yue in close.
Yue throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Green works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Yue misses with a hook. Green ducked under it nicely.

Green throws the kick towards the body but Yue avoids it.

Yue misses with a low kick as Green jumps back.
Yue chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Green can pounce on him.
Green throws a front kick aimed at Yue's knee but Yue avoids it well.
Yue has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Green wants to land a leg kick but Yue is out of range.
Yue tried to score with a low kick but Green checks it.
Green tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yue sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Green somewhat.
Yue stuffs the takedown attempt from Green. Green gets slowly back to his feet.
Green dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yue. That did some damage!

Yue got a little sloppy there for a moment and Green has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yue has managed to get both his arms back between Green's legs - danger averted.

We've been hearing that Green has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Green seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Yue does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Yue is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Green's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Green's back!
