Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Mcconnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anand Pawar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jared Mcconnell is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jared Mcconnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anand Pawar!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pawar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mcconnell really is a fat lump.
Pawar is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mcconnell will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Pawar tries to move to mount but Mcconnell blocks the move with his legs.
Pawar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Pawar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mcconnell, who protects the arm well.
Mcconnell is not content to let Pawar control the position.
Pawar lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Mcconnell is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Pawar decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Mcconnell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pawar pinned against the cage. Pawar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pawar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mcconnell.

Mcconnell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pawar throws a head kick that misses.

Mcconnell looking to score a takedown here. Pawar is defending well but Mcconnell drives through and ends up in Pawar's guard.
Mcconnell won't allow Pawar to get back to his feet.

Pawar looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Pawar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pawar is looking to control Mcconnell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pawar avoid being mounted?

Mcconnell is working for a kimura but Pawar is defending it quite comfortably.

That's time! Mcconnell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Pawar dives in and grabs Mcconnell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mcconnell pushes down on Pawar's head and hops out.
Anand Pawar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcconnell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pawar is fending him off so far but Mcconnell persists. Nope, Pawar circles away and we're back to standing.
Pawar scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mcconnell doesn't seem bothered though.

Pawar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mcconnell's guard.

Mcconnell throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pawar escapes and throws Mcconnell's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Pawar remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Mcconnell is looking for a sweep.
Pawar tries to stand but Mcconnell is controlling his head.
Pawar lands some shots froms side control.
Mcconnell is trying to get back to his feet.
Pawar gets to mount! Mcconnell was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mcconnell sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Pawar is pressing down on Mcconnell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mcconnell is holding on for now.
Pawar tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mcconnell.
Pawar trying to control the action but Mcconnell is working from the bottom.
Mcconnell is looking to improve his position.

Mcconnell is looking for a triangle but Pawar pushes his legs off easily.

Pawar is working Mcconnell over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Anand Pawar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pawar shoots in for a takedown but Mcconnell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Some wild striking there from Pawar.

Pawar drives through with a takedown into Mcconnell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Pawar wants to control from the top but Mcconnell keeps moving.
Mcconnell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Mcconnell wants to stand but Pawar is controlling the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Anand Pawar has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mcconnell dives in and grabs Pawar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pawar pushes down on Mcconnell's head and hops out.
Pawar comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Pawar gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mcconnell has Pawar pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pawar manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mcconnell pushes Pawar off and gets back to his feet.
Pawar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pawar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcconnell as he avoids it easily.
Pawar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mcconnell defends it nicely.
Jared Mcconnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anand Pawar.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mcconnell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcconnell wants it to stay on the feet.

Mcconnell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pawar shoots for a double leg takedown but Mcconnell sprawls well. He's pushed Pawar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mcconnell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jared Mcconnell just wasn't active enough.
Pawar looks to land a combination but Mcconnell avoids it well.

Anand Pawar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pawar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
