Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kanaka Roots (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schultz has chosen As The Crow Flies - Newsted as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roots misses with a double jab
and Schultz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Schultz is looking to land body kicks.
Roots shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schultz but Schultz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A thudding body kick lands there by Schultz!
Nice takedown defense from Schultz. No joy for Roots on that attempt.
Roots shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schultz as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kanaka Roots. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Roots closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Schultz to the mat! Schultz manages to get full guard.

Roots looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Schultz wants to control the position but Roots says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Roots stands up and beckons Schultz to join him on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Roots.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roots doesn't manage to clinch there - Schultz circles away.

Schultz blocks a head kick by Roots.
Schultz takes a swing at Roots's ribcage but misses.
Kanaka Roots seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick lands from Schultz.
Roots fails with the takedown.
Roots dives in and grabs Schultz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schultz pushes down on Roots's head and hops out.
Roots wants to clinch.
Roots closes the distance and clinches up with Schultz, looking for a takedown. Roots pushes Schultz against the cage but Schultz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Schultz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Roots is breathing heavily.

Schultz lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Roots.
Schultz presses Roots against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Schultz lands an uppercut.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Schultz lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Schultz digs a right hand into Roots's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Roots's gas tank.

Schultz throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Schultz connects with a good right hand that stumbles Roots. Roots circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Roots tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Good leg kick by Schultz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Schultz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schultz connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Roots changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schultz tries to avoid it but Roots manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schultz to the ground. Schultz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Schultz lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Roots falls backwards - clearly groggy! Schultz dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
