Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mica Makaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Rafael Batista Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Makaaja might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to BassLovers United - I Can't Dance. Batista Da Silva has chosen Pride Theme as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruno Rafael Batista Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Makaaja drops back, looking for a kneebar! Batista Da Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Batista Da Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Batista Da Silva!

It looks like Mica Makaaja has been cut.
Makaaja tries to bench press Batista Da Silva off him but Batista Da Silva keeps the position.

You can see the frustration on Makaaja's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Batista Da Silva misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Batista Da Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Batista Da Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Batista Da Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Makaaja keeps working.

We've been hearing good reports from Makaaja's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Makaaja is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Batista Da Silva pulls his head out easily.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Batista Da Silva lands a nice short elbow.

Makaaja is looking for a triangle but Batista Da Silva pushes his legs off easily.

Makaaja escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Batista Da Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Makaaja manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Batista Da Silva manages to get himself to full guard.
Makaaja wants to control from the top but Batista Da Silva keeps moving.
Batista Da Silva throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Makaaja looking to sit in guard and control but Batista Da Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Makaaja had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Batista Da Silva defends it easily.
Batista Da Silva wants to stand and escape but instead Makaaja has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Batista Da Silva lands an upkick as Makaaja stands over him.

Batista Da Silva throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Makaaja escapes and throws Batista Da Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Makaaja has hold of Batista Da Silva's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Batista Da Silva seems comfortable defending it but Makaaja has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Batista Da Silva is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Batista Da Silva is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Makaaja couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mica Makaaja!
