Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jafar Agrabah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donato Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jafar Agrabah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donato Russo!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Agrabah lands a high kick!


It looks like Donato Russo has been cut.
Russo avoids the head kick by Agrabah.
Agrabah takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Russo blocks a head kick by Agrabah.
Russo is looking to clinch but Agrabah is avoiding it.
Jafar Agrabah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Russo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Agrabah as he jumps to the side.
Agrabah cracks Russo with an open hand slap.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Russo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Agrabah tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Russo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Agrabah trying his best to control but Russo has mounted him.
Agrabah is desperately trying to improve his position but Russo has a good base and remains in mount.
Agrabah tries to hold on but Russo pushes him away.
Agrabah is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Russo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Russo looking to sit in guard and control but Agrabah gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Agrabah is looking to stall here but Russo recovers full guard.

Russo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Agrabah is pushing down on Russo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Russo is fighting to maintain full guard but Agrabah has managed to sneak the leg through.

Agrabah seems to be looking for submissions.

Russo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Russo tries to clinch but Agrabah moves out of range.
Agrabah tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Russo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Agrabah pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Russo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Russo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Donk. Agrabah catches Russo right on the button with a cross.
Russo avoids the head kick by Agrabah.
Russo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Agrabah tries to avoid it but Russo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Agrabah to the ground. Agrabah escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Russo is breathing heavily.
Agrabah lands a head kick. Russo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


That has opened up Donato Russo's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Russo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Agrabah wants to hold on but Russo pushes him away.
Agrabah can't escape the position.
Agrabah is squirming around, avoiding Russo's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Russo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Russo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Agrabah tries to reverse the position but Russo maintains control.

Russo controlling the position easily from mount.
Agrabah is looking to improve his position but Russo isn't that keen on the idea.
Agrabah regains half guard.
Agrabah wants to control but Russo is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Russo is keen to just control but Agrabah is a slippery customer.
Russo performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Agrabah manages to get to full guard.
Russo tries to free his leg and advance position but Agrabah is retaining full guard.

Agrabah looking for a guillotine here but Russo defends easily.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Russo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Agrabah circles away.
Russo fails with the takedown.
Agrabah throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Agrabah tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Russo shoots in but Agrabah avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jafar Agrabah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donato Russo.
Russo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Russo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Agrabah wants to sweep but no luck.

Agrabah has his foot on Russo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Russo works his way back into a safe position though.

Agrabah is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Agrabah looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Russo has picked Agrabah up and slammed him! Agrabah can't keep hold of the triangle and Russo manages to pass to side control!

Agrabah is trying to control Russo's posture but Russo avoids it.
Agrabah is not content to let Russo control the position.
Agrabah wants to control but Russo postures up.

Russo lands a decent elbow from side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Agrabah throws a head kick but Russo moves out of range.
Russo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Agrabah pinned against the cage. Agrabah gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Russo throws a sloppy head kick and Agrabah moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Russo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Russo fails with the takedown.
Russo takes a kick to the side of the head.
Donato Russo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!


The cut above Donato Russo's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Agrabah connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.


Donato Russo's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Russo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Jafar Agrabah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Agrabah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Agrabah - that will leave a mark!
Agrabah lands with a hook. Russo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Russo shoots for a double leg takedown but Agrabah sprawls well. He's pushed Russo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Agrabah throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Russo on the side of the head.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Agrabah, right into the meat.
Jafar Agrabah is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Agrabah pushes Russo away with a front kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jafar Agrabah showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Agrabah, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
