Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen Here comes the boom as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Thompson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fadden is fending him off so far but Thompson persists. Nope, Fadden circles away and we're back to standing.
Fadden throws the left hand but Thompson avoids the punch easily.

Fadden has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Elite Training Facility in the buildup to the fight.
Thompson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fadden smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Thompson is rocked!

Fadden throws a right and a left that Thompson avoids nicely.
Fadden tries to bum rush Thompson with a series of wild strikes but Thompson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Thompson drives through with a takedown into Fadden's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Thompson seems to have recovered his senses.
Thompson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Fadden wants to stand but Thompson is controlling the position.

Thompson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thompson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fadden is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Fadden on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fadden tries to get out of the position.

Thompson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Fadden is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Fadden has escaped and now he's on top!

Thompson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fadden defends well.
Fadden has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Thompson is proving hard to escape from.
Fadden has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Thompson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fadden has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Thompson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Fadden is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Thompson pulls down on the head and he's put Fadden to sleep! This one is all over!

After the fight, John Thompson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
