Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erin Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marino Martin!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin fails to land with a series of punches.
Padilla throws a right and a left that Martin avoids nicely.
Martin thows a body shot but no joy.

Martin scores with a takedown into Padilla's guard.

Padilla working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Martin has passed into half guard!
Martin misses with a head shot. Padilla uses the momentum to regain guard.
Martin throws a big right hand that misses.
Martin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Padilla working for a triangle but Martin defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Martin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Padilla trying to control the position.

Padilla is looking for a triangle but Martin pushes his legs off easily.
Martin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Padilla is proving hard to escape from.
Martin throws a big right hand that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Padilla keeping full guard, as Martin tries to pass.
Martin lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Martin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Padilla has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martin has managed to get both his arms back between Padilla's legs - danger averted.

Padilla has his foot on Martin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martin works his way back into a safe position though.
Martin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Padilla could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Martin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Martin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Padilla's head.
Martin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Martin wanted to stand there but Padilla had control of the position.
Martin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Padilla has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Martin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Martin advances position into side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Martin is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Padilla is trying to escape and Martin transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Padilla is forced to tap! Nice work there by Martin! Very nice indeed!
