PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biggie Shackleton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shamrock might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Raining Blood - Slayer. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shackleton connects with a leg kick. Shamrock looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Shackleton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shamrock has time to react.
Shamrock steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shackleton.

Biggie Shackleton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shackleton throws out a loose jab but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it.

Shamrock takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Shackleton feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shamrock sprawling to the canvas! Shamrock rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Shackleton finish him?!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

No joy there for Shackleton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shackleton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shamrock's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Biggie Shackleton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Shackleton jabs Shamrock right on the nose. Shamrock blinks but takes it well.
Shackleton does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shackleton has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
