Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Gage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Huerta!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gage misses with a low kick.
Gage misses with a right hand
and Huerta counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gage misses the shot to the body.
Gage misses with an uppercut.
Gage throws a shot from downtown. Huerta moves away and avoids it.
Gage looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Huerta shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Paul Huerta has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gage misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gage throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Huerta blocks a head kick by Gage.
Gage pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Huerta shoots in looking for a takedown. Gage tries to sprawl out of it but Huerta keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gage scores with a push kick.

Gage feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Huerta sprawling to the canvas! Huerta rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gage finish him?!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gage misses with a looping right.
Gage throws a lazy right hand but Huerta sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gage swings for the body but Huerta moves out of range.

and Huerta counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gage's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gage has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Huerta postures up and lands a big shot to Gage's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gage preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Gage might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Gage manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Gage lands a hook that snaps the head of Huerta backwards.
Gage tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Huerta's elbow.

Gage escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A big right from Gage misses.
Gage throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gage tries a head kick but it misses.
Huerta doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gage counters with a thumping low kick.
Huerta avoids the head kick by Gage.
Gage lands a jab to Huerta's midsection.
Huerta looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gage is fending him off so far but Huerta persists. Nope, Gage circles away and we're back to standing.
Joe Gage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Huerta.
Both fighters circling a little - Gage finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Huerta looks winded!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Good leg kick by Gage there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Gage drops Huerta with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Huerta looks back up at him and smiles so Gage waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Gage drops Huerta with a big left hand! Huerta is injured, injured bad! Gage jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Gage!
Joe Gage got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
