Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enrico Matta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matta is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Velociraptor by SUBSONICA. Enrico Matta acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enrico Matta!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Matta defends it nicely.
Matta waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Benoit.
Benoit shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Matta sprawls well. Matta wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Benoit gets slowly back to his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Matta has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Benoit tries for a takedown but Matta circles away easily
and Matta counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Frank Benoit has been cut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Benoit. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Matta smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Matta throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Benoit on the side of the head.
Matta stuffs the takedown attempt from Benoit. Benoit gets slowly back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Benoit closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matta circles away.
Matta lands a nice looking body kick.
Jab by Matta.
Matta throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Benoit is breathing heavily.
Matta throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Benoit stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Matta scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Matta fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Benoit to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Benoit looks to clinch but Matta throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Benoit taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Enrico Matta!
A relieved looking Enrico Matta thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
