Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rankka Ankka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maciej Dobrzynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ankka comes to the cage accompanied by Milk - The Knife Song. Dobrzynski has chosen Sabaton - Uprising as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rankka Ankka!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maciej Dobrzynski!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ankka avoids a punch combination nicely.

Ankka closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dobrzynski quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ankka is trying to control. Dobrzynski wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ankka wants to work for an arm triangle but Dobrzynski is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ankka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Ankka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dobrzynski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've been hearing that Ankka has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Ankka slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Dobrzynski has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ankka has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Dobrzynski prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ankka jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dobrzynski walks away with a smile on his face. Ankka gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ankka lands a jab-cross combination.
Dobrzynski misses the jab.

Dobrzynski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ankka was covering up waiting for the punch and Dobrzynski finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ankka will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ankka controls Dobrzynski momentarily but Dobrzynski frees himself.
Ankka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dobrzynski might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ankka haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Dobrzynski lands a couple of elbows.
Dobrzynski trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dobrzynski wants to control from the top but Ankka keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maciej Dobrzynski was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ankka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

A head kick lands from Ankka that sends Dobrzynski to the canvas. Dobrzynski tries to scramble back to his feet but Ankka brings him back down into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ankka tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Ankka just content to control the position.
Dobrzynski struggling a bit here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ankka lands a few punches from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Dobrzynski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dobrzynski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Ankka is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Maciej Dobrzynski has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dobrzynski throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Dobrzynski in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Dobrzynski trying to control the action but Ankka is working from the bottom.
Ankka is trying to escape the position but Dobrzynski is controlling the position.

Dobrzynski goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ankka has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dobrzynski but great work by Ankka.

Ankka is looking to take a break and control but Dobrzynski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ankka is trying to get an arm triangle but Dobrzynski is defending well.
Dobrzynski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Dobrzynski moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ankka tries to stand but Dobrzynski is controlling from the bottom.

Dobrzynski looking for a guillotine here but Ankka defends easily.
Ankka wants to get up but he can't break Dobrzynski's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dobrzynski pushes a forearm under Ankka's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ankka is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Maciej Dobrzynski! Maciej Dobrzynski retains his light heavyweight title!

In defeat, Rankka Ankka stepped up to the mic, saying 'You are good fuckin good'.
