Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marlon Delacruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Sawyer!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delacruz tries to clinch but Sawyer is having none of it.

Sawyer fails with a takedown attempt.

Sawyer darts in and clinches Delacruz up against the cage.

Delacruz tightens his grip and picks Sawyer up, before dumping him to the ground. Sawyer manages to land in guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Sawyer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Sawyer manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Sawyer has his foot on Delacruz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Delacruz works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sawyer is trying to hold Delacruz in close to prevent damage but Delacruz has managed to pass into half guard.

Delacruz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sawyer is just riding it out for now. Delacruz eventually gives up the hold.

Delacruz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Delacruz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Delacruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sawyer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Delacruz has managed to get both his arms back between Sawyer's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marlon Delacruz will probably get the nod.

Delacruz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sawyer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Delacruz is trying to drag Sawyer to the mat but Sawyer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Delacruz lands a couple of digs.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Sawyer manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Sawyer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Delacruz is working Sawyer over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Well Sawyer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
