Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Anghel Ama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anghel Ama has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, John Locke!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ama throws a sloppy head kick and Locke moves out of range easily.

Ama scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ama in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Locke can't do much from the bottom here.
Ama wants to control but Locke is keeping him busy.
Locke wants to control but Ama postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Locke is looking to reverse the position.
Ama moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Locke is trying to improve his position.
Locke wants to get back to his feet but Ama is dominant here and he's now got Locke's back!
You can see the frustration on Locke's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A head kick misses from Locke.
Anghel Ama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Locke tries to clinch there but Ama circles away.
Ama throws a nice looking combination but Locke bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ama tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Locke manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Locke shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ama manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Locke manages to get himself to full guard.
Anghel Ama overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ama with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Locke looking to control but Ama passes into half guard.
Locke wants to control but Ama is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ama is stalling here. Locke is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ama seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Locke has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Ama is trying to control Locke's posture but Locke avoids it.

Locke looks up at the clock and then as Ama takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Locke smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

John Locke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Ama gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Locke to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Locke in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ama is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ama really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Locke stays in close to Ama's body and controls the position.
Ama is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ama keeping moving, preventing Locke from controlling successfully.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Locke's corner is telling him to maintain position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Locke hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Locke closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ama did well to prevent Locke getting side control.
Ama tries to roll over but Locke keeps him under control.

Locke is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Locke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ama trying to hold on to Locke's head to control him but Locke postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Locke in particular looking to stall.

Locke is trying to control. Ama wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Locke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ama doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Locke wants to pass the guard but Ama is keeping the position.

Locke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ama tries to kick Locke off but Locke keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Locke tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ama controls his leg.

Locke is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Locke is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ama doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Locke.

John Locke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Locke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
