PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Quint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Chee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Quint had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Quint!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Chee!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quint pivots, looking for a leg kick but Chee is out of range and Quint settles back down.
Chee throws a predictable looking body shot
and Quint counters with a stiff right hand.
Chee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Quint.
Quint's jab looks to have found its range, popping Chee under the eye.
Good leg kick by Quint there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Quint has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Quint throws a body kick that misses
and Chee counters with a good low kick that Quint was not able to check.
Quint cracks Chee with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Chee lands with a right hand.
A big right from Chee misses.
Chee throws a lazy right hand but Quint sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Quint smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Quint getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Quint throws a body shot but no joy.

Quint moves into the clinch.
Chee gets through Quint's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A short right from Quint on the inside.
Quint throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chees head.
Chee tries to break free but Quint pushes him back against the cage.

Chee lands a shoulder strike.
Chee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Chee.
Quint prevents a body shot from Chee.
Chee is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Quint misses with a short punch on the inside.
Chee lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Quint tries to throw a body punch but Chee avoids it by throwing Quint back against the cage.
Quint tries to work over Chee's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Quint is trying to stall.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Chee creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Chee tries to pull guard but Quint won't allow it.
Quint tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Quint gets through Chee's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Chee prevents a body shot from Quint.
Chee swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Quint blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Chee pulls guard successfully.
Chee has control of Quint's left arm, preventing Quint from doing any damage.
Chee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Quint controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quint trying to control the position from guard on top but Chee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Chee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Quint on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A nice leg kick lands there from Quint.
A telegraphed right hand from Chee misses the target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chee swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Quint moves away from the strike by Chee.
Quint is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Chee takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Chee checks a leg kick.
Quint throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Quint moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Chee gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Quint.
Quint fails with an attempt to clinch.
Quint gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Quint is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Quint walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big left from Chee misses.
Chee looks to land a left hand but Quint moved out of range nicely.

Quint clinches up with Chee and pushes him back against the cage.
Quint throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chees head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Quint dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Quint loads up on a big right hand but Chee slips the punch.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Chee checks a leg kick.
Quint throws a combination that misses
and Chee counters with an outside leg kick.
Chee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Quint sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Quint lands a nice hook to Chee's body. Chee takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Quint lands with a straight right. Chee didn't see that one coming.
Chee misses with a body shot.
A solid leg kick lands there for Chee.
Chee jabs Quint to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Chee connects with a solid leg kick.
Chee throws a body punch but Quint moves out of range.
Chee connects with a solid leg kick.
Chee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Quint.
Quint listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chee with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Quint to score with a decent uppercut.
Quint throws a shot from downtown. Chee moves away and avoids it.

Chee lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Chee scores with a jab to the head.
Quint staying out of range there.
Quint keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chee throws a body kick that misses.
Quint lands the left hand.
Sam Quint is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Quint throws a leg kick that misses.
Quint listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Chee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Quint. That did some damage!
Quint throws a big shot that misses.

Quint drops Chee with a beautiful combination! Chee stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Quint is looking for the KO!


Chee is rocked!


It looks like Kim Chee has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Quint connects with a nice cross there... Chee is looking wobbly and Quint recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Chee to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Quint jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sam Quint!
Sam Quint got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
