PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alfredo Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Utah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alfredo Barbosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johny Utah!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Utah misses the shot to the body.
Utah chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Barbosa can pounce on him.
Utah shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Barbosa defends it nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Utah is defended easily by Barbosa.
Utah on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Utah throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barbosa's waist but Barbosa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Utah off to one side.
Alfredo Barbosa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johny Utah.
Barbosa throws a quick inside leg kick.
Utah doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Barbosa counters with a nice body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Utah.
Utah is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Utah is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barbosa sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Utah tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Barbosa defends well and Utah ends up having to push Barbosa into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Barbosa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Utah has his takedown stuffed
and Barbosa counters with an outside leg kick.
Utah looks winded!

Barbosa feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Utah sprawling to the canvas! Utah rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Barbosa finish him?!

Utah is rocked!

It looks like Johny Utah has been cut.
Utah drops his hands for a split second and Barbosa immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Utah face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Barbosa follows up with a right hand that knocks Utah into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alfredo Barbosa!
