Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sum Gai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samson Wade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gai's entrance music is I'm A Lover Not A Fighter. A fine choice. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sum Gai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samson Wade!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gai feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wade's calf.
Wade shoots in and drives through. Gai sprawls well.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wade has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Wade scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gai in his tracks.

It looks like Sum Gai has been cut.
Gai turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Gai looks to land a left hand but Wade moved out of range nicely.
Wade throws a hook but Gai blocks it.
Gai throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wade sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Wade counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Gai!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wade is trying to control the action in half guard but Gai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Wade is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gai defends well.
Gai has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wade ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gai throws a low kick but it's checked well by Wade.
Gai looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gai throws a looping overhand right but Wade ducks down to avoid it.
Wade uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gai.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Samson Wade will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Sum Gai's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Wade bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wade connects with a body shot that sends Gai's belly button to the back.
Wade scores with the left hand. Gai knows he should have avoided that one.
Gai jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Wade drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wade with a flurry of punches that miss.

Wade has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wade thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gai is trying to get back to full guard.

Wade winds up and cracks Gai with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wade passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gai!

Wade is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gai to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gai shrugs it off.

Gai is desperately trying to improve his position but Wade has a good base and remains in mount.

Wade has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wade unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Gai wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Wade celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
