Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andy Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Strummer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andy Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Strummer!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns ducks under a wild hook from Strummer.
Strummer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Burns looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've been hearing reports that Burns has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Strummer connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Strummer avoids the body shot from Burns.
A punch combination from Burns misses.
A jab from Strummer does it's job there.
Strummer lands with a right hand.
Burns slips a jab from Strummer.
Strummer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Burns at a distance.

Strummer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Strummer throws a jab but it's blocked by Burns.

Strummer has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Burns is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Strummer works to advance to full mount. Burns defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Strummer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Burns can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Strummer moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Burns has worked his arm free - good work by Burns!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Strummer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burns has escaped the position, nice work there.
Strummer takes a little break here. Burns wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Strummer tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Strummer is just content to waste time from the top position. Burns takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Burns is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Strummer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Strummer has escaped and now he's on top!

Strummer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Strummer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burns looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Strummer is controlling the pace.
Strummer trying to advance position but Burns counters by regaining guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Joe Strummer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Burns gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Strummer.
Joe Strummer seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Burns takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Strummer lands a nice shot that snaps Burns's head back.

Andy Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Strummer feints and as Burns raises his hands in defense, Strummer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Joe Strummer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Strummer looking to take Burns's back but Burns rolls and after a scramble, Burns ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Burns to escape a tricky position.
Strummer has his hands on Burns's head, controlling the position.

Strummer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Burns is fighting to break Strummer's control of his arms but Strummer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Strummer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Strummer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Strummer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Burns's guard.
Strummer moves into full mount! Burns won't be happy about that!
Strummer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burns is looking to escape.
Andy Burns has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joe Strummer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Strummer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
