Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hai Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harper is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Day-O. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hai Doyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Harper!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harper is looking to clinch.
Harper fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Doyle looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Doyle defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Harper.
Doyle avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Harper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Doyle swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Harper moves into the clinch.
Harper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hai Doyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Harper.
A bit of stalling here from Harper.

Doyle pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Harper throws a nice looking combination but Doyle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Doyle swings around for an armbar but Harper sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Doyle's guard.
Harper throws a strike but Doyle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Doyle is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Harper wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Doyle manages to pass to side control.

Doyle thows a huge punch but Harper dodges it nicely.
Harper wants to improve his position but Doyle is controlling well.

Doyle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Harper is just riding it out for now. Doyle eventually gives up the hold.

Doyle stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Harper to get to his feet.
Doyle tries a head kick but it misses.
Carl Harper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Doyle swats away the attempt to clinch by Harper.
Harper changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doyle tries to avoid it but Harper manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doyle to the ground. Doyle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Doyle keeps the fight on the outside.
Harper will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Harper closes the distance and pushes Doyle back into the cage.

Harper lands an uppercut.
Doyle fails to pull guard.
Harper lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Doyle is trying to stall.
Harper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Doyle tries to pull guard but Harper won't allow it.
Doyle changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Harper fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Doyle is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Harper's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hai Doyle dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Harper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Doyle tries to bum rush Harper with a series of wild strikes but Harper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Harper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Doyle swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Harper fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hai Doyle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Doyle has a takedown stuffed.

Doyle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Doyle is in close to Harper's body, working some short punches and elbows.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Carl Harper hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Doyle fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Doyle avoids a punch combination nicely.
Harper digs a good body shot into Doyle's ribs.
Harper lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Harper.

and Doyle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Harper is breathing heavily.
Doyle postures up in Harper's guard and throws a big left but Harper blocks it.

Doyle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Doyle in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A combination from Doyle does no damage.
Doyle stuffs the takedown attempt from Harper. Harper gets slowly back to his feet.
Hai Doyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Harper.

Harper takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Doyle shoots for a takedown but Harper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Harper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Doyle sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Harper somewhat.

and Doyle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Harper's guard.

Hai Doyle showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Doyle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
