Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Len Deleon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanamichi Sakuragi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Len Deleon is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Len Deleon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanamichi Sakuragi!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuragi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice sprawl there from Deleon as Sakuragi shoots in.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sakuragi. That's going to slow Deleon down.
Sakuragi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Deleon but Deleon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sakuragi looks for a takedown but Deleon sprawls well.
Len Deleon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanamichi Sakuragi.

and Deleon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sakuragi won't be happy with that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Deleon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Sakuragi darts in and clinches Deleon up against the cage.
Sakuragi wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sakuragi is trying to force a seperation but Deleon has the dominant position.
Sakuragi tries to pull guard but Deleon won't allow it.
Sakuragi is trying to drag Deleon to the mat but Deleon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Come on Deleon - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Deleon is trying to pull guard but Sakuragi turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Sakuragi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Sakuragi is trying to break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Deleon jumps guard but Sakuragi turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Sakuragi tries to stall but Deleon uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sakuragi goes for a takedown attempt but Deleon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sakuragi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Deleon tries to avoid it but Sakuragi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Deleon to the ground. Deleon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sakuragi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sakuragi wants to clinch but Deleon slips to the side
and Deleon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sakuragi shoots in looking for a takedown but Deleon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sakuragi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Deleon circles away from the clinch attempt
and Deleon counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sakuragi.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Deleon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sakuragi's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Len Deleon dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A punch combination from Sakuragi misses.

Hanamichi Sakuragi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sakuragi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sakuragi tries to clinch but Deleon is having none of it.
Sakuragi throws a nice looking combination but Deleon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sakuragi goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Deleon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sakuragi's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sakuragi is breathing heavily.

Deleon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Deleon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sakuragi for as long as he can get away with.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
It looks like Deleon is going to stand back up.

Deleon drives through with a takedown into Sakuragi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Deleon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sakuragi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deleon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sakuragi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Deleon is one step ahead there.
Sakuragi wants to control the position but Deleon says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Sakuragi pushes off an throws an elbow but Deleon leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Sakuragi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sakuragi misses with a short punch on the inside.

Sakuragi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Len Deleon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanamichi Sakuragi.
Sakuragi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Deleon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sakuragi.
Sakuragi is trying to break free.
Deleon tries to pull guard but Sakuragi won't allow it.

Sakuragi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sakuragi misses with an uppercut. Deleon saw that one coming.

Sakuragi fails with the takedown.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Deleon is defended easily by Sakuragi.
A head kick misses from Sakuragi.
Sakuragi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sakuragi wants it to stay on the feet.
Sakuragi just misses with a punch to the body.
Sakuragi throws a head kick that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Deleon.
Sakuragi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Deleon circles away quickly and effectively.
Sakuragi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Deleon sprawls well. Deleon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sakuragi gets slowly back to his feet.
Deleon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sakuragi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Deleon somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Sakuragi. No joy for Deleon on that attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Len Deleon.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Deleon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
