The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolaev throws a lazy uppercut
and Tyler counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Tyler cracks Nikolaev with an open hand slap.
Tyler misses with a hook. Nikolaev ducked under it nicely.
Tyler cracks Nikolaev with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Tyler lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nikolaev is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tyler.
Nikolaev fails to land the takedown.
Tyler throws a hook but Nikolaev avoids it easily.

Nikolaev is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tyler's half guard.

Nikolaev misses with a head shot. Tyler uses the momentum to regain guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nikolaev throws an elbow that misses. Tyler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nikolaev's guard. Nice move by Tyler!
Tyler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nikolaev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tyler has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nikolaev is proving hard to escape from.

Tyler is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Nikolaev has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Tyler is looking to defend but Nikolaev has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Tyler! Nikolaev pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Tyler taps out and this one is all over!
