Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carol Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Lestat!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lestat throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nash was covering up waiting for the punch and Lestat finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nash looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Lestat postures up.
Nash might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nash pulls Lestat in close to his closed guard and prevents Lestat from doing any damage or advancing position.

Lestat wants to control from the top but Nash keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Carol Nash wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nash defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lestat.
Lestat moves out of range of the body kick.
Damien Lestat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lestat looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nash is fending him off so far but Lestat persists. Nope, Nash circles away and we're back to standing.

It looks like Damien Lestat has been cut.

Carol Nash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damien Lestat.

Nash closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lestat's guard.
Lestat is trying to control the position but Nash postures up.
Lestat might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nash haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lestat wants to sweep here but Nash controlling him for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lestat can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nash has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nash bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lestat's guard.

Nash drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nash jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nash looking to sit in guard and control but Lestat gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lestat lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nash!

Nash is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lestat is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nash is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lestat pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Nash drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lestat pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lestat throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nash.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Damien Lestat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Carol Nash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nash throws a body kick that misses.

I would just about give that final round to Damien Lestat.
Well Nash has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
