The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Defoe gets the takedown into side control.
Defoe wants to control but Clarke is keeping him busy.
Defoe working away.
Clarke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Defoe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Clarke is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Clarke holding on.
Defoe is looking to take a break and control but Clarke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Defoe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Clarke has escaped the position, nice work there.
Clarke tries to bench press Defoe off him but Defoe keeps the position.

Defoe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Clarke, who protects the arm well.
Clarke tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Defoe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Defoe advances nicely into full mount.
Clarke wants to control but Defoe is having none of it.

Defoe has hold of Clarke's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Clarke manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Defoe throws some wild stikes that Clarke manages to avoid easily.

Defoe wants to stand but Clarke is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Defoe prevents Clarke from getting the reversal.

Defoe goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Clarke is on top in guard.

Defoe is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Clarke rolls with it to try and escape but Defoe cranks on the arm and Clarke is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
