The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schroeder throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fon Gadov.
Fon Gadov moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Marvin Fon Gadov has been cut.
Schroeder wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Schroeder lands the left hand.
Fon Gadov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Schroeder sprawls well initially but Fon Gadov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Schroeder wants to control but Fon Gadov is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Fon Gadov decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Fon Gadov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brian Schroeder.

Fon Gadov dives in for a single leg takedown but Schroeder sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Fon Gadov is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Schroeder pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Brian Schroeder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marvin Fon Gadov.

Schroeder throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fon Gadov on the side of the head.

Schroeder connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Fon Gadov covering up! Schroeder comes in with a big uppercut and Fon Gadov goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brian Schroeder!
A relieved looking Brian Schroeder thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
