The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan throws a combination that misses
and McGuiness counters with a straight right hand.
McGuiness slaps away a takedown attempt from Morgan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McGuiness waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Morgan.
McGuiness has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Morgan is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Morgan moves out of range as McGuiness strikes.
Morgan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McGuiness.
McGuiness misses with a hook

and Morgan counters by moving into the clinch.

Morgan manages to break the clinch.
Morgan ducks under a wild hook from McGuiness.
Morgan misses with a wild body shot.

Morgan clinches up with McGuiness and pushes him back against the cage.
Morgan is trying to drag McGuiness to the mat but McGuiness just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
McGuiness is looking to control Morgan's arms but Morgan gets an underhook and turns him. Now McGuiness has his back to the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morgan tries to work over McGuiness's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Morgan scores with a shoulder strike.
Morgan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning McGuiness up against the cage.
McGuiness stops a takedown attempt from Morgan.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Iwan Morgan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Morgan manages to break the clinch.
McGuiness misses with a straight left.
McGuiness scores with a nice head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGuiness scores with a nice right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Morgan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McGuiness throws out the jab.
McGuiness misses with a lunging right hand
letting Morgan counter with a right hand.
McGuiness might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A left lands for McGuiness.
Morgan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Morgan is rocked!
McGuiness is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Morgan.
McGuiness misses with a straight left.
Morgan moves out of range of the strikes.
McGuiness keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McGuiness pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McGuiness throws a hook but Morgan blocks it.
McGuiness is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Morgan.

McGuiness is trying to maintain a safe position but Morgan gets an underhook and turns McGuiness into the cage.

Morgan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McGuiness defending well as Morgan loads up on a big left hand.
Morgan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Morgan blocks a jab.
McGuiness scores with a nice strike.
Morgan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McGuiness.
Morgan shoots for a takedown but McGuiness saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Morgan is breathing heavily.
Morgan walks into a jab.
McGuiness closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Morgan! McGuiness dives in looking to finish! Morgan is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Liam McGuiness!
A less than humble Liam McGuiness misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
