Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toshi Matoshin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeAngelo Suggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matoshin's entrance music is Mortal Kombat theme. A fine choice. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Toshi Matoshin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, DeAngelo Suggs!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suggs tried to score with a low kick but Matoshin checks it.
Matoshin misses with an uppercut. Suggs saw that one coming.
Suggs throws a hook but Matoshin avoids it easily.
Suggs takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Matoshin tries for a takedown but Suggs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Suggs bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Good leg kick by Suggs there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Suggs with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Suggs thows a body shot but no joy.
Matoshin misses with a wild body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matoshin is defended easily by Suggs.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toshi Matoshin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Suggs will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Suggs throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Matoshin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice takedown defense from Suggs. No joy for Matoshin on that attempt.
Suggs uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Matoshin has time to react.


It looks like Toshi Matoshin has been cut.
Matoshin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Suggs to score with a decent uppercut.


Matoshin is rocked!
Matoshin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The fighters circle momentarily. Matoshin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Oh Matoshin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matoshin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Suggs throws out the jab.
Matoshin seems to have got his legs back now.
Matoshin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Suggs is fending him off so far but Matoshin persists. Nope, Suggs circles away and we're back to standing.
Suggs throws the left hand but Matoshin avoids the punch easily.

Matoshin throws a jab when Suggs was well out of range.
Matoshin takes a swing at Suggs's ribcage but misses.
Suggs misses with a wild combination.
Suggs moves out of range as Matoshin strikes.
Suggs throws a wild body kick that Matoshin sees coming a mile off.

Matoshin gets a clinch.
Matoshin tries to pull guard but Suggs holds him up against the cage and eventually Matoshin drops back down to his feet.
Matoshin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Suggs fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Suggs throws a nice inside leg kick.

Suggs throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Suggs moves into range and connects with a jab.
Suggs has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Matoshin misses with a looping right.
Suggs throws a leg kick but Matoshin sees it coming and moves out of range.
Matoshin connects with the punch.

Suggs gets tackled into the cage by Matoshin. Matoshin maintains the clinch.

Matoshin pulls guard effortlessly.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Suggs trying to control but Matoshin is working from the bottom.

Matoshin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Suggs seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Suggs engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DeAngelo Suggs dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Matoshin avoids the body shot from Suggs.
Matoshin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Suggs tries to bum rush Matoshin with a series of wild strikes but Matoshin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Matoshin pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
DeAngelo Suggs seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Matoshin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Suggs did well to prevent Matoshin getting side control.

Matoshin wants to work for an arm triangle but Suggs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Matoshin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Suggs keeps working.
Suggs is pressing down on Matoshin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Matoshin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Matoshin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Matoshin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Matoshin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Suggs swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Suggs wants to sweep here but Matoshin controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suggs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Suggs is trying to control. Matoshin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Suggs is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Suggs can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Matoshin is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suggs throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Matoshin throws a lazy right hand but Suggs sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Matoshin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Matoshin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suggs pinned against the cage. Suggs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Suggs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Suggs takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Matoshin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Suggs throws an overhand right that lands on Matoshin's shoulder, as Matoshin tries to avoid the shot.
Suggs throws a body punch but Matoshin moves out of range.
Suggs moves out of range of the strikes.
Matoshin dives in and grabs Suggs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Suggs pushes down on Matoshin's head and hops out.
Suggs throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Matoshin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Matoshin misses the jab.

Matoshin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Suggs dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Matoshin. That did some damage!
Suggs missing with a left hand there. Matoshin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Suggs is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matoshin.

Matoshin tries to pull guard but Suggs holds him up against the cage and eventually Matoshin drops back down to his feet.

Matoshin manages to break the clinch.
DeAngelo Suggs is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Good exchange - Suggs coming out on top.
Matoshin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Suggs but Suggs pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Matoshin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Suggs as he jumps to the side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Suggs jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Matoshin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Suggs.

I would just about give that final round to DeAngelo Suggs.
I've got Suggs winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
