PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abel Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lincoln Burrows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burrows looks to clinch

and Hardin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hardin is trying to pull guard but Burrows turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Burrows tries to work over Hardin's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hardin tries to land knees in the clinch but Burrows avoids the damage to the body.

Hardin has picked Burrows up - he's going for a ride! Hardin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Burrows trying to hold on to Hardin's head to control him but Hardin postures up.

Burrows is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hardin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hardin's back!

Burrows is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hardin has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Hardin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Burrows controlling well, preventing Hardin from escaping the position.

Hardin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Burrows is looking for a kimura here.
Hardin is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burrows is pressing down on Hardin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hardin is holding on for now.
Burrows is keen to just control but Hardin is a slippery customer.

Burrows moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Hardin.
Hardin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Burrows throws a strike aimed at the side of Hardin's head but Hardin avoids it well.

Hardin is looking for a sweep.
Hardin wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Hardin is looking to reverse the position.
Burrows lands some shots froms side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hardin is not content to let Burrows control the position.

Burrows decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hardin to his feet.

Burrows rushes Hardin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Burrows has Hardin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Burrows pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hardin tumbling to the mat - Burrows dives into Hardin's guard.

Hardin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Burrows is keen to just control but Hardin is a slippery customer.
Hardin works his way to full guard. Good work.

Hardin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burrows defends well.
Hardin is breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lincoln Burrows.

and Hardin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hardin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Abel Hardin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Burrows closes the distance and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lincoln Burrows dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Burrows wants to clinch but Hardin slips to the side

and Hardin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hardin is trying to pull guard but Burrows turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Burrows is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hardin can't fight it off and eventually Burrows manages to take the fight to the floor. Hardin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hardin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Burrows trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Hardin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burrows can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Burrows stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hardin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hardin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Burrows stacks Hardin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Burrows!
Burrows has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hardin!
Hardin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee warns Hardin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Burrows is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Burrows extends the arm and Hardin is forced to tap!
